2024 Holiday Cyber Card

As we approach the end of 2024, we want to share some highlights from our year. This post captures the significant events and moments we've experienced over the past twelve months.

January: We celebrated Urs' birthday with a trip to a Mexican restaurant. Additionally, we joined the Nos' in celebrating their 25 years in southern Germany.

February: Michael and Andrea attended a performance by Salut Salon in Frankfurt and visited the Palm Garden. Kathryn accompanied Urs to Düsseldorf to get a tattoo!

March: Michael and Andrea spent a weekend at Alpenfestung in Switzerland. We celebrated Kathryn's birthday and hosted our niece Kristina, who was studying in Paris, for a visit. Kathryn was in Freiburg making a presentation about her master's thesis.

April: During Kristina's spring break, we met Dave and Kim in Strasbourg for a weekend. They later visited Urs in Stammheim, where he was setting up his new apartment after starting a job with Studio Soi. Andrea also spent a weekend with her work colleagues.

May: May was a month spent mostly at home, meeting with friends.

June: Michael made his first work trip to Sofia, Bulgaria. We visited Urs in Stammheim and went on a bike tour to Ludwigsburg.

July: We visited Andrea's childhood friend, Frank, and his husband in Altmühltal for a weekend and enjoyed bike tours.

August: We took a family vacation to Peterhead, Scotland, to explore Andrea's father's ancestral roots. This was a family gathering before Kathryn left for Guam, where she continued working on her master's thesis.

September: Michael spent a weekend gaming with a friend in Belgium. Andrea got a tattoo, and Kathryn bought her first car. Kathryn defended her thesis remotely and graduated with her master's degree. Urs visited a friend in Denmark.

October: We planned to spend a week in Mengerskirchen walking dogs, but had to cut the trip short due to Covid. We also said goodbye to our pet, Tenten.

November: Michael returned to Bulgaria for work. And some of his Bulgarian colleagues visited Walldorf as well. Unfortunately, our home was broken into, and some jewelry was stolen. We celebrated Thanksgiving with our SAP family.

December: We spent a weekend in Freiburg. Michael attended the SAP Christmas party, marking the departure of 3500 employees from SAP Germany. We are spending Christmas with Urs, who will stay with us until the New Year.
